Whole lotta strings!

Sign in to disble this ad
After trying a bunch of stuff over the last couple years I have a pretty good idea of what I like. I have all these strings hanging around now and I don't remember what they all are anymore! I never bought cheapo strings, but some might have come on basses that I've bought used. Included are some Ken Smith Compressors, D'Addario nickel wounds and half rounds, SIT rounds and flats, and I'm not too sure about the rest. Could be anything.

If you can identify them by the color of silks and balls, you know what you've got but I can't do it.

There are 15 sets total-

8 roundwound
3 half- or ground-wound
4 flatwound

All sets are 4 strings except for two of the rounds. Most have been cut for 4 inline tuners, but the 5 string sets were on my L-2500 (3+2). I bought the large majority of these strings new and none of those have much playing time on them.

What you see is what you get! I'm not going to sort through them or break up the lot, it has to be all or nothing. I won't attempt to identify any of the sets because sure as can be I'll say this one is "x" and someone will get it and say I was wrong and trying to cheat them or something. I can say for sure there are no T-I flats and I'll be glad to answer any questions to the best of my ability to remember.
I'll pack them all up today so if anyone wants them they can ship on the day of the sale.

$5.00 PER SET
$75.00 total including shipping to 48 states

silk is either GHS or Rotosound you can definatly tell by feeling them. And yes the coloured balls are d'addario.

Forgot to mention that the eight round sets are on the left, the four flats sets are on the right, and the row of three are all some form of half-flats.

I don't remember having any of the following brands, so there are probably none of the following:
Dean Markley
Elixir
Ernie Ball
GHS
LaBella (had black tapewounds, none of these are)

Colored balls are D'Addario, one is halfwounds, one of the round sets is nickel. Both D'Addario rounds may be nickels, they look alike.
I think the red silks are Rotosound, one flat and one round.
I think the 5 string set with black balls is SIT.
I think the flats with green silk at the ball ends are Fender.
The set near the middle of the pic with dark purple silk at both ends are Ken Smith Compressors.
I have a hunch that the ground-flats with black silk are SIT's.
The set with light purple silk, might be Foderas.
That leaves out the three sets with no silk or colored balls, and the flats with purple silk.

Of course the flats with orange silk must be carrots...

The purple wrap half flats are the Ken Smith groundwounds I believe. I have a set and they are really nice.
