Local would be great but shipping is an option too. I don't need upgrades, actually I'd prefer no backrest or foot rest. Standard height and any seat shape is fine. Both the c4 and c5 models look fine to me. I'd also be willing to drive a couple hours. I'd be willing to meet in Cleveland, Pittsburgh or Buffalo if more convenient.
Thank you

How about this one: Wenger | Ensemble Stool
Or one of these if you feel like spending less money: https://www.schooloutfitters.com/cat...cts_id/PRO3366
They all have adjustable legs, you could put a cushion on them for less than $20, rubber foot tips for less than $5 and they've got a wide ring at he bottom for yer feet. I've got the wenger myself and I don't think I'll ever need a different one unless stool technology somehow makes an sudden leap into the future! |

Yes, they're unbelievably expensive, especially with the exchange rate not being very good right now. But, this guy has thought through everything. I spent a half hour on the phone with him as he asked me all sorts of questions from my height and weight to what options I wanted. One thing I would say is don't get the swivel option. It adds a ton of weight and makes the stool really top heavy. I used to have back problems but since I bought the stool my back is much better. |

I've sat on a concert design, and besides a butt cushion and very sleek appearance, it differs in feel very little from the stools I posted (for me). One can add a nice cushion to any of the stools I posted for less than $30.
As far as options are concerned, we're talking about footstools and backs, right? If you want a back on your stool, okay, but footstools can be added for cheap as well.
As far as durability goes, the Wenger has a 10 year warranty, and I know a guy who's been using a wenger chair for over 20 years and it hardly shows the wear. The cheaper stools I don't know about...

Tak a look at these:
My son one of the above and it is perfect. Have carried to concerts and events without much effort as it folds down easily (even eaiser with out the back which is removable). K&M STEHHILFE - Thomann UK Cyberstore
There is also BERGERAULT CHAIR DOUBLE BASS PLAYER 1125 - Thomann UK Cyberstore A lot more $ and not as transportable but still significantly less then what you had referenced.
I have ordered from Thomann before and all has gone well, shipping is fixed at 30 EUR (about $45 on today's exchange) and I have not found a better price even with the shipping cost. Or there is one in the classifieds with is up in Cleveland but it is priced a little on the high side IMHO. |

It adds 3 inches or so to the height of the stool. I could adjust the stool down but then the footrest is awkward. I've tried all these things and once I sat on a gig molto for a moment and I was suprised at the comfort, then when I went to pick it up I was shocked by how light it was, it's almost like the perfect stool haha
As far as the foldeable things, I don't like the design, feel or inconvenience of carrying two pieces and a bass.
In the mean time, I'll keep looking for the right used one untill I can come up with the money to buy new. Not looking for the swivel, backrest or additional footrest so that's not an issue.
Thanks guys!
