2 B2 Barkers for sale, Limited Time Only!!

You, as a forum reader, get the first shot at 2 Barker B2 prototypes, #04 and #06, both 4 string fretted versions. You can see a similar picture of the model on the New Barker Basses thread. I have several detail photos of these two and will forward them to you when you email me direct: barkerbass@bendcable.com

You need to know several things about these instruments:

1. They are sonically up to snuff. Mostly these (8) were testbeds for the center wood and for finishes/esthetics.

2. They are not perfect from a finish standpoint. a ding here or there, a not-quite-smooth place over yonder, that sort of thing. Maybe we should say they are "pre-aged". (They vary very little from the first concept bass which we wanted to be a little smaller, a little lighter without losing the signature Barker tone. See Doug Mancini's review of the B2.)

3. Like any Barker, they come complete with stand, stand bag and gig bag.

4. Because they are prototypes, the do not carry the usual one year limited warranty or three day return policy. This is a reflection of the low low price.

5. Price is $1600 plus shipping. US shipping is $80 or less.

6. Payment is by credit card: Visa or MC.

7. This offer is good until noon (Pacific Time) September 29, at which time I'll make it available to our larger mailing list.

Here's your chance to own a unique, historic Barker, single digit serial number, with that huge, round, split P pickup sound!

I will post to this thread when both are sold.

I bought #4

Bought it on eBay a couple of weeks ago.

I entered a "what the hell" bid of $1005.00, figuring if I got outbid, so be it, and if I won, well, cool!

I won.

This prototype is pretty much everything it was advertised to be....plays easy....sounds real good....looks real cool.

I haven't begun to explore the possibilities of this instrument yet, since most of my playing these days is on a Shen double bass and I'm working a second job to pay for the Barker B2.

But I'll provide more later, as my Barker and I travel down the road together.....
