Holiday wishes to all our friends from the entire staff and management of Barker Musical Instruments. That would be Lee, and Linda, and then Lou, and Dean, plus lots of others whose positive vibes make this whole dream a reality.

Andy asked us to go out and play a carol.

Our church band has discovered that "Away in a Manger" goes pretty good as a calypso tune. Certainly makes the bassline more interesting!

So thanks for the impetus, Andy, and the second to the motion, Ben.

Alternative carols

Funny you should mention that - we're doing 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen' with a kind of Stray Cats Strut feel broadening into a jazz feel with a nice walking bass line! Sounds great, hopefully we can record it. We'll be playing that at the Christmas Eve midnight service.

I think it was the Yank Lawson-Bob Haggart band that did an album called "Hark the Herald Angels Swing." That tune really lends itself to a straight ahead swing treatment. New Orleans feel might work too.

Anxious to hear your GRYMG tune, Andy. Bet it's a winner.

Kindly,

Lee
