My new Barker Brio

My new Barker Brio arrived last wed. Just in time for the long holiday weekend.

Right out of the box and set up per the mfg suggestions, I immediately began getting sounds. No wait, make that GREAT sounds.

Everything I had read and had been told has proven true.

The overtones, the playability, and the low end is almost scary. After 10 minutes I had already decided it was going to the gig on friday. Not to mention it looks even cooler in person. It will never be left in its case at home.

I don't think there is a Barker player who hasn't made that exact same statement almost immediately after getting the bass

Congrats on the bass ..... it is a gigging machine and in a live setting the tone is amazing .......

Lee Barker definitely knows what he's doing -- and you couldn't have bought from a nicer guy.

Welcome to the family, My Friend!

My New Brio

Oh yeah, pics. Lemme see. I live in the boonies (that means dial-up) so I have to do that sort of thing at work. Maybe tomorrow I can get some up...

My B1 has ran the other basses under the bed..

There are no words to describe the tone and playability of the instrument that do it justice!
Lee is a great guy and his craftsmanship is to be envied..

Congratulations!

Welcome to the Family! You'll probably find yourself not wanting to play any other bass anymore....it's still the way I feel about my B1.
I think you'll find a lot of tones and possibilities with your Barker, as you work and gig with it for a while. And get ready, you'll be answering a lot of questions! Even non-musician types are intrigued with the Barker. As you play and gig with your Barker, you'll realize just what a versatile instrument Lee has given us, and the effort he puts forth to make his instruments what they are. Keep us posted on your Barker experience. Lee is cooking up something new for me, but I'm still crazy about my B1. I will never part with it!
All the best, Leo Goff

Thanks for the kind welcome everyone. And yes, I find myself playing it more and more. As a matter of fact, my P-bass hook up went down at the top of the first set saturday night (bad cable) and I put it down, stepped on the A/B switch and did the whole set with the Barker without a hitch.

Right again on the response from musicians and non-musicians alike. It's drawing a crowd. We do several little commercials per night plugging the instrument and it's designer, and people always have questions.

I know the feeling. I will undoubtedly have more questions too, as I go...
