Recently espied by, we suppose, numerous expressionless roaming Googly-eyed computer-entrapped robots and obediently reported to the mother ship:

new pictures on the Barker and Me page of the Barker web site.

Ed Goode.

Garland Moore of the Piranhas.

Joel Thomas of the Mighty No-Stars.

While I fear no backalley confrontation with someone at least a foot shorter than me and preferably narrower, I would fear any one of these three in anything centered around a speaker cone loosely leashed to a few transistors trying to be more like Cousin 6L6. Especially if they had a Barker and I didn't. Oh I know, my driver's license insists that I have a Barker self hard wired, but we're not talking genomes here, we're talking walking bass, in case you thought you might be on the "YoYoers on Stilts, wearing Vintage Shoes" forum.

I also noticed that they all have two O's in their names. And there's Leo Goff. What could this mean, what could this mean?

I believe in the case of Garland, Joel, Leo & Ron, the "double o's" probably come from people listening to their major skills and saying "Oooo, what is that bass you're playing?"

In my case, it's a more distorted type of double o's, something like .... "Ewwww, what the heck are you playing"

Mystery of the "O"'s

As my darling wife Jill often reminds me, the O's in my name are a constant reminder that if I was only 1 foot shorter, I would be perfectly round!!

On a more musicial note, one of the groups I work with regularly, The Eric Hughes Band, recently had their latest CD debut in the top 25 Contemporary Blues Tracks by contemporary Blues Radio.

Eric's CD was selected earlier this year to be included in Blues Revue's CD Sampler. Eric's original track, "Muddy Waters Records" was featured on Elwood Blues' "House of Blues Radio Hour". We're keepin' the Blues alive here in Memphis!
