For Sale: Barker B2 Prototype

FOR SALE: Barker B2 Prototype Bass.

This is one of 4 B2 prototypes sold on eBay last December. (A total of 8 of these prototypes were produced; 4 were sold, 4 were retained by the Barker family. The B2 will be available soon as a production model, named the Brio.)

This B2 is in mint condition, very lightly played, with the same playability and sustain that all Barker basses have. I am selling it because I am focusing on playing the upright (double) acoustic bass.

The above picture is very similar to my B2, except my prototype doesn't have the thumb rests. (I'll provide pictures of it as soon as I get my digital camera working.)

I paid $1,000 for the B2 in December. I would like to sell it for $900. It comes with the stand and the heavy-duty gig bag for the bass plus a gig bag for the stand. I will pay for shipping and handling. (I still have the box and packaging material that it came in.)

I'm planning on taking this instrument to a local music dealer in Columbus, Ohio in a week or so, to have them sell it on consignment for me. I thought I'd see if there is any interest here at the Barker Bass Forum.

If you have any questions, you can post them here or e-mail me at gw_in_ohio@yahoo.com.

Thanks for looking.....

I'm taking this Barker B2 prototype off the market. After taking it out and playing it some more, I decided I can't part with it.

I think it's a good choice to keep the B2. You can't touch anything like it for the money. I absolutely love mine!!
