Players for collection. Stuff I don't play usually goes to eBay or CList:

1) 1964 Gibson T-Bird with 2 pickups & no neck issues
2) 1989 white Steinberger Trans Trem with actives
3) Late 1980's Alembic with medium-short scale(Nick in The Sheiks played the
best one made).
4) Epiphone Pro V.....got one now. The 5 string Gibson should have made IMO
5) 1967 Fender P that the Saints band used in Tulane Stadium(owned by a friend).

The OP said 5.
There are a couple of others but the above(less # 4) are not here now.

Ooh, good poll.

I'd probably go with a matching pair of Conklin 7's or 9's, in fretted and fretless.

A really nice Fender P

A Lakland 55-02 or 55-94

An upright or EUB, maybe a NS Designs or Baby Bass.

My Pedulla Thunderbolt 6 string, which you can pry from my cold dead hands.

... and I have a Nordstrand NX5 on order that I'm sure I'd be unable to part with.

fritz bros. fb bass

mind you, i already have a couple basses that would be on my list if i didn't have them already. my 76 pj modded precision is a keeper at any price, and even though it's not expensive, my p lyte agrees with my bum shoulder and plays super easy.

-2009 Ric 4003 in Mapleglo with the stock hi-gain pups.
-1993 Ric 4003s in Fireglo with HB-1 pups.
-2004 Ric 4004L in Fireglo with the stock humbucker pups.

My wish list is to someday replace the 4003 stock hi gains with a toaster and a horseshoe.

1. MTD535 (wirh the maple burl on Alder, maple neck/RW fb) - b/c currently I am loving my Kingston Heir 5 and Artist 5, I can only imagine what an American made would be like!

2. Reverend Rumblefish 5L - b/c I was stupid to sell it, its a great sounding bass, and b/c its style is utterly unique.

3. Warwick Thumb B.O. (4-string) - b/c I was also stupid enough to sell this one, Warwick tone is a good thing, and b/c I love the look and feel of it.

4. Clement Custom Fretless 5-string (Phoenix body style, Spalted Maple top, Pau Ferro fingerboard) - IMO one of the best American luthiers; his basses are pieces if art and his eye for selecting wood is uncanny.

5. Fender Deluxe P Bass Special 4-string (Navy Blue Metallic w/a custom white pearloid pickguard) - b/c it is a great sounding P and every collection should have a good P Bass. (and I probably shouldn't have sold this one either!)

Isn't it ridiculous that I've owned and sold 3 out of my 5?

Yea, it is.
