I wrote a LONG review about the whole story and what I think about it, but later found out that I didn't mention TPB enough, my fault.
Anyway, check out the thread at here.
Thanks James, Robert and other guys of TPB, that's a wonderful instrument!!

You have no idea how close I am to picking up the phone, with credit card in hand (and I normally refuse to put any gear purchases on a credit card).
Question:
In the long list of tops available, I noticed that some of them have what appears to be Roscoe serial numbers assigned to them. Are these tops already scheduled into Roscoe's build slots??

The Perfect Bass has sold some beautiful Roscoes, including mine, and I was wondering if there is any way to add a section on your website that shows pictures of the sold basses. |

Funny you should mention that... We're actually working right now on our Gallery. We get a lot of traffic on that page of our site, so we're doing some work to add more content to that and update it on a regular basis.
I'm not sure if we will be able to list many previously sold instruments, but we do have some that we've kept nice pictures of that we will likely put out there.
However, moving forward, what you'll see is as we receive new inventory that is particularly cool, we'll put some additional detail shots out in the gallery for your viewing pleasure.
It should be pretty cool and another reason to check back from time to time to see if there's new pics out there.
I remember your bass also by the way... VERY cool instrument!
Peace! |

The new Century Standard models just arrived today! Let me just say that Keith and company have done an amazing job of creating a bass that lives up to the revered Roscoe namplate while keeping the cost of this new model VERY reasonable!
Here's the pricing on the Century Standard:
4 String: $1,979
5 String: $2,199
6 String: $2,425
AMAZING! Genuine, USA made Roscoe basses starting UNDER $2,000!!!
Now, here's a kicker...these basses sound and play amazing! There's something about the 3 piece maple neck, thin satin finish and solid Ash body that comes together to produce incredible fundamental notes that sustain and cut through like nobody's business!
I had a chance to sit down with the 6 string fretted model today and not only did it sound phenomenal, but the feel was amazingly comfortable... I've been very averse to moving up to a 6 string and this bass may make me a convert! Oh...and as I sat in awe at this bass, I couldn't help but notice how light it was... A short walk to our shipping scale indicated a total weight of 7.9 lbs!!!!
7.9 POUNDS!!! IN A 6 STRING ROSCOE BASS!!!! Simply incredible...
These basses will be on our site by tomorrow at the latest, and I believe we'll have some of them up today. Visit www.ThePerfectBass.com/roscoe.cfm to check them out!
If you have any questions, give us a call at 866.751.3220 or email Brandt@ThePerfectBass.com.
Peace to all!

"Aw, you won't have any punch," "it's all gonna sound like a kazoo," " We'll drown you out...." You know how guitarists are; take away their banky and hair gel and they get real whiney.
After they heard the sound, they would ask me t try it on songs instead of my jazz bass. I found that just by changing my attack and the right hand position near the bridge, I could do a pizzicato movement, which when REALLY cranked up, had a growl that shamed a '66 jazz. I played jazz, country, funk, I think I even play Creedence on it, God forgive me.

Hard to top Gard's, but I can "bottom" it instead. Search Roscoe thread for #6039 and see my Bubinga consecutive cut top/bottom build. A definite nod towards Gard & Wolfbass twin Roscoes, but tweaked to my liking. Quote:

That will look stellar! I was torn between waterfall & the piece I settled on, absolutely beautiful!

Are those Bart CB's in the Century Standards, or Roscoe Barts? I know this model is limited on options but it would seem this choice would not be an imposition on any party - to install or sell.
Thanks

Thanks | Century Standards come with Bart Classics. |

The idea behind the Century Standard is that every one is exactly the same except for the color and the fingerboard. This allows Roscoe to acheive a certain level of proficiency at producing the same product every time, and keep the price of that American made product a great deal less than the custom version, but still made by the same craftsmen with the same level of quality components.
In addition, Keith wanted something just a little more edgy for the tone of the Century Standard... So it is intentional from a tone perspective as well.
So no, despite the fact that it SEEMS to be an "easy upgrade", changing the pickups from the factory is not an option on Century Standard Models.
