Question MTD Z5 vs. Carvin LB75

I am about to choose between the MTD Z5 or the Carvin LB75. Both appear to be nice basses. I would love to hear the opinions of those who have played both and chose one over the other and why they did.

I have owned both. I would have to choose the MTD Z5 over the Carvin. My opinion is biased because my Carvin's neck warped within the first year I had it. It looked amazing and sounded pretty good escept for the intonation problems after the 12th fret.

I wasn't crazy about the Z5 because the preamp was a little thin, but if you boost the low end on the amp it sounds amazing. (I purchased my Z5 from The Perfect Bass and it had a good set up and I received top notch customer service!)

Yes I sold the Z5. I had to sell my F Bass and I went through about 6 basses before getting the Z5. I kept it 6 months. I was very pleased with the sound other than the bass lacking the low end that I was used to. If I had been smart I would've just upgraded the preamp.
If I could go back in time thats what I'd do. Plus, at the time I sold it they were still a lil scarce on the market so I got pretty much what I paid for it!
