Passed by the new store on Tuesday for the first time

I live in New Orleans and frequently my job takes me to Baton Rouge for the day. Instead of taking a lunch break on the way home this week, I passed by the new Perfect Bass location on Jones Creek Rd.

The new store just blows the old store away completely, and there are now more staff and all of them were friendly and very helpful. I was given a tour of the store and the online business area (where we caught a puzzled looking James eating lunch - sorry James) and I was able to play quite a few nice pieces.

In the short amount of time that I had, I was able to play:

- Human Base w/Glock preamp
- Musicman HH "Ball Family Reserve" with Redwood top
- Bongo HH
- MTD KZX (with American electronics package)

There were plenty of other treats just waiting to be tried, but I had to hurry. Personally the unexpeted highlight for me was the Bongo HH, I thought it had a very versatile EQ. I thought the Ball Family Reserve Stingray was very nice too; there were plenty of options with the electronics package as far as coil tap, etc. and was also very flexible. There were two of them who will make someone very happy as the proud owner.

Thanks guys! I'll be seeing you again soon.

Which model Human Base did you play? I just purchased a BaseX.oc5 two days ago and love it. Fantastic value and an amazing amount of tonal options....plus it's fun to say "Glockenklang"

I played the 4-string version. I liked the versatility of the preamp and the EQ a lot, and there's an active/passive switch in case you want a double humbucker bass with passive control. I wish I had more time to play with it, with versatile EQ you need to spend more time to figure out how to set things best.

For the money I thought it was a lot of bass. I could hear that it was easy to clean up the sound and make things tighter without sounding sterile.
