I've got a big, deep djembe that I bought several years ago because I thought it would be cool to play. But I don't ever play it, and I've got a hankering for another G&L bass... so it's got to go!
I believe it has a goatskin head, and I don't know what the wood is, but I suspect it is Tweneboa, which seems to be a common wood for djembes. It seems to have been carved out of a single (large) piece of wood. The strap that was on it broke, as you can see in the pictures, but that is easily repaired. It also has a few dents and gouges. Nothing major, but they are noticeable. At one point, the rope holding the head on is frayed a bit, which doesn't seem to be dangerous now, but maybe after a lot more use would be something that needs taking care of. It may be repairable now, I have no idea.
I don't know much about djembes, but my understanding is that the thickness of the wood at the bottom is something people want to know. It is about 1.25" or so thick.
I bought this thing on Ebay for well over $100. Looking through the completed auctions on Ebay, 15" diameter djembes all seem to sell in the $100 - $160 range. I'd like to get $90 + shipping for it. If anyone wants more pictures or more information about it, let me know.
I'd also be willing to trade it toward a 4 string G&L bass. And there's always a chance I'll accept other trades if you want to run stuff by me. But the main thing I'm looking for at the moment is another G&L.
