I recently got an aphex 207, which was based off of the 107's solidstate/tube circuitry, and the sound is great! I have analyzed the unit and the interesting part was in the distortion (not clipping distortion, but the natural circuit operation byproduct) characteristics of the gain stage which puts out primarily even order harmonics (read: the good ones) with very little of the odd variety, even with the gain set to -1dB. Very clean preamp with great real tube fatness happening, a very pleasant sound. Good luck on the sale!
