Awww man... I NEVER know how to answer the "sound" question. I register about three types of guitar tone: SRV smooth blues perfection, muddy, and biting shred.

That said... I would say this UltraV is comparable to a Strat sound (without the single coil hum)... neck pickup has a slightly bright-ish mellow blues tone while the bridge is a bit bright.

The koa keeps things mellowed out but not as nicely as alder does.

Okay... I just reread what I wrote... I REALLY suck at describing sound!

I've got a Carvin with the same pickups but on a mahogany body. I think the technical term for the tone is "sweet". (Not sure if that's much use...)

Does this one have the coil tap on the tone knob to switch it over to single-coil?
