I got this in a trade a couple of months ago so as to play guitar in my band, but the band broke up and it just kind of sat there while I played bass in my main project.
It's a 1998 model with an ash body finished in White Blonde (trans-white, where you can see the gorgeous grain!). The neck is maple and the fingerboard is rosewood. Tort pickguard. This guitar has quite a few mods that make it really sing: Seymour Duncan pickups, namely, a JB in the neck, Duckbucker in the middle, and '59 in the bridge. It has a Varitone 5-way tone switch in place of the volume knob, and master volume and tone controls. The tuners have been upgraded to Sperzel locking models, and it has a roller nut. It will stay in tune NO MATTER WHAT. You can dive bomb all day, pound the strings, and it'll be perfectly in tune. Because of the Varitone switch and upgraded pots, the guitar is fitted with chickenhead knobs because the standard Strat knobs won't fit. I imagine you could whittle the shafts down to fit standard knobs if you wanted.
The tone is totally killer with this Strat; it has gobs of output and is extremely flexible. The pickups are VERY potent, and the Varitone switch gives you a lot of versatility.
It is in AMAZING condition with virtually no wear besides a very miniscule orangish mark on the top edge of the body, and a VERY tiny freckle next to the input jack. The guitar comes with the original hardshell case (which is in equally great shape), the original whammy bar, and the original white knobs. A white Allparts backplate will be included on the side.
For trades, I'm mainly interested in Ernie Ball and G&L basses, but might look at the right Fender too. I may also be interested in bass heads; let me know what you have and we could work something out!
