I've had this amp for over 10 years. I bought it since I was playing harp (harmonica) but I abandoned that since I feel that harp players really need to be able to sing also.
Anyhow, this is a real '59 tweed Bassman. And most know that it never really worked out for bass but just smokes for guitar. So many amps were based on the tone of this amp there have been very few that have even come close, IMHO.
This amp has been retweeded long before I got it. And the speakers were replaced with vintage Jensens. The transformers should be the originals and the circuit has not been molested other than I recapped it just after I got it. It had the original caps and I still have those. I also changed the AC cord to a grounded plug but have the original AC also. It still sports the tube chart. I'm not sure about the handle but I'm betting it's a repro.
I am selling the amp for $4000 plus shipping. (sorry NO PAYPAL). I will need to ship the amp in 2 boxes - one for the cabinet with speakers and one for the chassis (tubes separately packed)
I will be leaving Portland on Sunday for about 2.5 weeks so I'm not sure when I would be able to ship. I guess we can work something out.
