FS: 1963 Gretsch Corvette (Brooklyn made) with P90s
I have too many guitars and I've got to let this one go. It's a 1963 Corvette with Burns trem. This is the earlier model with 3+3 headstock. Made in Brooklyn.
It's been refretted and fitted with a pair of Gibson P90s and Tune-o-Matic bridge. The work was done by Jim Mouradian in Boston. Includes original HiLo'Tron pickups, original bridge, and a modern hardshell case.
Here are some pics from a couple of days ago...
Since it's non-standard, I'm asking a bit less than half of what these go for in original condition. My asking price is $775 shipped and PayPaled. Includes hardshell case (rough cosmetics, but functional) as well as the original HiLo'Tron pickups, bridge, etc.
If someone knows how to post sound clips, please let me know. I've got a few .wav files on hand.
This is the Gretsch strung with pure nickel strings (DR Pure Blues 9-42 set) played through my "poor-man's Billy Gibbons" rig: a '57 Gibson GA-5 Skylark amp with a touch of hair from an Xotic SL Drive set to "Super Bass" mode.
The clips were recorded direct to a Tascam DR-40 handheld using an inexpensive Chinese ribbon mic slung over the back of a chair. No reverb or processing at all. The only compression is whatever was added when converting to MP3 format and then uploading to SoundCloud.
