SOLD.
Selling a G4 iBook, this is the last model of iBook ever made.
Specs:
PowerPC G4 Processor, 1.43GHz
1.5GB DDR Ram
60 GB Hard Drive
Airport Extreme (802.11g) + Bluetooth
2 x USB 2.0
1 x Firewire 400 (6-pin)
Ethernet
56kModem
SuperDrive (DVD-RW / CD-RW) (see below...)
Screen is bright, no dead pixels, everything works great except the SuperDrive, which is working on about 1 in 20 tries. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. This is a great laptop for just about anybody who is interested in learning the Mac, that's why I got it. It will boot from the SuperDrive if you can get it to recognize the disc. I installed Leopard from a Firewire hard drive, so that works fine too. A replacement SuperDrive runs less than $100 on eBay, but I am getting a MacBook Pro next week and don't need two Macs. I have upgraded the RAM to 1.5GB, which is the max allowed, and it runs Leopard very well.
iLife '09 installed (iPhoto, iDVD, iWeb, Garage Band, but iMovie HD won't work on a G4 Mac)
I'll be happy to set it up with the latest version of OpenOffice.org or iWork, up to the buyer. I prefer OOO to Pages and Numbers, but that's just me.
Has been wiped and has a fresh install of Leopard with all updates (10.5.8)
The laptop is pretty clean for a white iBook, a few scratches but nothing major. Keyboard and trackpad are in excellent shape, and the battery lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours.
Even with a replacement optical drive, this is still a better value than most cheap netbooks.
