Thanksgiving price drop! $650/shipped!
I've sold her once, then bought her back. But now it's time to say farewell once and for all to my custom spalt top telecaster. She's taken a back seat to my Spectors for far too long, and really deserves to be more than a dust collector on my wall.
She originally came out of Bud Veazy's shop down south as 12 string. I found that I didn't play a 12er nearly enough, so I set out to convert her back into a comparably worthy six-stringer. I stumbled upon an amazing luthier in Ohio named Attila. It's really rare to see a neck made of spalted maple since the wood gets all kinds of punky due to the inherent fungus (ie spalt). Anyways, I told him what I wanted and he spec'd/built a thing of wonder and eventually assembled everything back up for me.
Here are the specs:
Back:Mahogany (dark red stained)
Top: Spalted maple
Neck: Spalted maple
Nut: TUSQ XL (black)
Profile: Std. Thin
Inlays: Abalone dots
Tuners: Grover Mini-locking Rotomatics
Pickups: GFS Retrotrons with push/pull pots
Logo: Literally one of one, Damselfly Guitars, which I thought went well with the spalt/swampy theme). Logo was applied as a waterslide decal before the neck was sprayed to it's on there for good)
Includes a pretty-much new tweed case, and I will ship any where CONUS on my dime. Asking $650.
Last price drop. No trades, please. Here is a link to a bunch more high-res pictures: http://public.fotki.com/ebradfordric.../spalted-tele/
Note that none of outside pictures were photoshopped or edited. That's was she looked out in the sun on my deck the afternoon I shot the pictures. The wavy, almost scalloped-looking figuring is all the natural patterning of the wood. The top is flat. Please feel free to ask any/all questions.
