SOLD!
I am moving back to being a bass player primarily and am in need of another 5-string for a new project I am in, so this PRS is now expendable. Its a fantastic guitar!! This is a 2002 PRS CE22.
Here is a quick rundown of the specs:
- Mahogany body w/ carved maple top
- Original Dragon II p/ups
- bolt-on maple neck w/ rosewood fretboard
- abalone dot fretboard markers
- 5-way rotary p/u switch
- PRS tremolo
- Old Antique Gold finish
I have owned a Custom 22 in the past and find that this guitar does a better job of getting both Strat-like sounds and Les Paul-like sounds, whereas the Custom 22 was always more slanted towards the LP side. This guitar can get nice and bright or big and fat, depending on the pickup selection. The Old Antique Gold finish is no longer in production, its a unique finish that tends to take on the color of the lights shining on it. Sometimes, it looks like a Goldtop, sometimes it looks green-ish, but I've also seen it look orange or red, depending on the lighting. But, it looks great under stage lights regardless, as do most PRS. Another cool thing about this CE is PRS was putting a black veneer on the headstock, so from the front, it looks exactly like a Custom. Newer CEs had a maple headstock. It has a small gouge on the back towards the top of the guitar and a small chip on the bottom edge. I tried to photograph both, both the chip was really hard to catch. But, I think the gouge shows up well enough. Also, the saddles have a little rust on them. But, she is in pretty good shape, not mint, but a solid 7.5-8 out of 10. I don't know the weight, but most PRS run on the heavy side. Still, I have gigged with many times and I have a bad shoulder and it hasn't been too bad on the weight. OHSC and trem bar are included.
I am asking $1250 OBO shipped for this great sounding, great playing guitar. Paypal is OK. I will only trade for 5-string basses of similar value such as:
- EBMM SR5 (any p/u configuration is fine)
- EBMM Bongo 5 (HS preferred, but open to any p/u configuration)
- Lakland 55-02 (prefer Barts to LH-3, but either is OK)
- Lakland JO5 or DJ5
- Fender Am. Std. or Am. Dlx. Jazz 5-string
- Dingwall Afterburner I (a long shot, but worth mentioning)
If you have a bass that you feel is of similar value, hit me up, you never know. I can add cash either way for the right bass. Pics of the guitar are shown below:
