FS: Mesa Boogie DC-5 112 Combo Amp

I have for sale a Mesa Boogie DC-5 combo amp. It is all tube, 50W with a 12" Black Shadow speaker. Clean, crunch, loud....everything you need.

I just traded for this a couple of weeks ago, but I just came across a Bogner amp for an unbelievable price, and I couldn't pass it up.

The DC (Dual-Caliber) 5 has endless features, including independent controls (including gain, eq, presence, reverb, master vol) for each channel, pull out boost knob, effects loop, channel assignable graphic eq, 4 and 8 ohm speaker outputs, 2 6L6s and 6 12ax7 preamp tubes, etc, etc.
This amp is known for its beautiful cleans and Mark Series or Recto-like gain depending on who you ask. Google it and read the reviews...

This really is a great sounding, versatile amp...and for the money, it's an incredible value.

The tolex is in pretty good shape, although there are a couple of places where it has worn through from what I assume came from an amp stand. There is also one knob missing off one of the EQ sliders. I just had a new reverb tank installed and I will also throw in a brand new Markbass on/off footswitch, which you can use to switch between channels, and an extra 12ax7wa preamp tube.

These are great amps. When I was a full-time gigging guitarist, this was my main amp. It was very reliable, and the tone was 100% Mesa. They get stupidly loud for their size. They are very versatile. The guitarist in my current band uses a Rectoverb combo and I think the DC combos are much better. The cleans are not as sterile, there is a little breakup in it, kind of like a Fender Twin. The gain channel not as overly bassy or fizzy sounding as the Rectoverb, very balanced and full, but still aggressive, especially with the 5-band EQ engaged. This is not to dog out the Rectoverb, which is a nice amp, so much as to show what a bargain these amps are.

If you like Mesas, but have never played one of these, I think you should give it a shot, especially if you need a nice amp on a budget or if you play in some places where you wouldn't want to take some of the nicer, prettier amps Mesa makes. Like the Mark series, the EQ on these amps comes with a learning curve. But, once you figure it out, you can get just about any tone you would ever need from these amps. Good luck with the sale!
