This is a complete shell kit with pre-tuned heads. This was my drummer's first drum kit and still works well (all of the required hardware is still there). The idea with this kit is that you never have to tune it up b/c the heads are pre-tensioned, you just clip them to the shells.
This standard kit includes a 12", 14" & 16" tom as well as a bass drum. Add a snare, kick drum pedal and a hihat, and you'd have a great starter kit!
If you wanted a big/fun project, you could definitely refinish the shells and mount standard hardware. At this point, these are just taking up room in my house. I have them for sale on Craigslist for
$25 so that's about what I figure they're worth. I would MUCH rather do a trade for something cool... strings, strap, pedal projects etc.
