Thumbs up FT: rare 70s/80s Yamaha JX40 guitar amp - Trade for FX

Sign in to disble this ad
This is an all-original Yamaha JX40 solid state guitar amp. 40 watts. 12" speaker.
These are pretty rare. Made in Japan.
It's in very good condition for it's age. Great for recording or practice amp. Actually, fender basses sound pretty good through it too at lower volumes.
Everything works perfectly, a couple of the knobs are scratchy but that's it.

It sounds just like it looks. Brown and retro.
I wanted to keep it just as a keepsake because they are rare, but I am running out of space thanks to our 2 little boys.

Looking for an OCD v4, ibanez od808, catalinbread, carbon copy, etc. but might be open to pretty much anything.

Wonderful looking amp. Yamaha really knew what they were doing back then with ss amps. I have the JX30B bass amp, and love it... sounds great for both bass and guitar. I hope you get the effects you're looking for. Seriously, sweet amp.

hey thanks man.
yeah, this is a cool amp. makes guitars/basses sound like an old vinyl-compression Hall & Oates album IMO.
