Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul DC Pro.

Sign in to disble this ad
A killer double cut Lester from the Gibson Custom Shop, not many of these out there. All original and in excellent shape with only some minor honest playwear front and back, no noticeable fretwear. Chambered one-piece mahogany body with an arched and nicely flamed bound top, ebony board. A 6 pound lightweight for those four hour bar gigs we workhorses figured that we would be past by now, pure P90 purr. Includes the original Gibson Custom Shop case also in excellent condition, $1200 $1100 $1000 shipped/insured CONUS.

I can't buy it. I won't buy it. I want it so BAD!!!! Beautiful guitar, seriously. I have a Gibson Les Paul DC Standard Plus, which is really close spec wise to this, and It was way more money! A custom shop for that price is rediculous. External to that a 24 fret Gibson is a great thing to have. External to that, it's a really unique one. Never seen a custom shop DC Pro before. External to that, I WANT IT I WANT IT I WANT IT.

Thankfully for my sanity, I'm broke =]

Goodluck with the sale. What an awesome guitar.

I found it on eBay a few years back and got a fair game deal on it, being primarily a bass player and not the greedy type by nature I figure that I'd clean out the closet and pass it along to an appreciative guitarist at the same time. Indeed I do take PayPal, PM me if you are interested.

Does it have the case candy? Any major nicks or finish flaws? Year?

Gibson serial number are as confusing to me as calculus, my best guess is 1997. I know they only made these for a couple of years at the end of the 90's so it would be right in there somewhere. I have the truss rod tool and the case key, somewhere around the debris that is my house there may be that little hang tag that says "Only a Gibson is Good Enough" or something like that, if it turns up I'll toss that in the case. A few light pimples on the back edge but nothing up front and nothing at all that I'd consider major, very nice shape.

First digit is decade, fifth digit is year, 2 3 4 are the day.

Example 90345947 would be 1995, 34th day of the year. Feb 3rd maybe. Get it?

Sweet deal on what appears to be a unique and quality piece. If I were playing more guitar I'd be thinking hard on this one. I had a Les Paul DC XPL a few years ago and this makes me miss that. Good luck!

Mr. Trabeen w/ the poochy face kid picture. Although kinda mentioned, 22 or 24 frets? Also, how's tuning/intonation consistency, without a tuneamatic? Thanks....

Pic #6 ( and the double dots up high) would seem to indicate a 24 fret neck.

Yes indeed, 24 frets. The tight intonation on a wrap around is a trade-off; they are simple and sound superb at the likely expense of losing precise intonation as you climb the board. I've never strobed one and can't hear it myself but others say that chords above the 12th fret begin sounding dissonant. I've been listening to Foghat and Zeppelin at intended volume for thirty plus years so my ears are likely less than perfect, your mileage concerning hearing microtones on a guitar designed for proper rock may or may not vary.
