Martin 00-16DBM Limited Edition

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD!
Great condition and plays nice, but it's not getting any playing time. Has very faint surface scratches on pickguard scene when light is reflected off surface. Has a small ding on front bottom edge, and a couple of light dings near bottom on front. Also a couple of light finish scratches on front at bottom left. I only found these when I reflected overhead lighting off surface. Trying to be upfront on this . This is a limited edition Martin 00-16DBM built in 1999 as part of Martins Women and Music (WAM) series. This guitar features 14-fret solid Mahogany neck with slotted headstock, extra deep 00 grand concert size body with scalloped braces and 25.4in scale. WIDTH AT NUT: 1 11/16''
The deeper 00 body gives this guitar extra volume so you can keep up with any OM or 000 but is still much more comfortable to hold. Purchased it from the original owner, he bought it at Mars Music and they gave him the standard Martin case instead of the Geib case, but he didn't know at the time it was suppose to come with the Geib. $1050 shipped obo, no trades please. Will ship from 30152. Best to reach me at jsfricks@yahoo.com

Does this have a bolt neck or set neck?

This has the Mortise/Tenon Neck Joint. Now standard in the 16 Series.
A brass screw and threaded insert is used to secure the neck in place during gluing. Though it is left in place afterwards to provide added security, it is not required, and could be removed. The number plate covers the bolt.

It is our firm belief that this neck joint provides optimum strength and stability to this high stress area while preserving the glued wood to wood contact of the neck to body junction. It is also our conviction that the integrity of this glue joint contributes significantly to resonant tone from the neck. Martin Guitars
