I am not playing guitar anymore and have decided to let a few things go
because I need the money more than home decor!
This is one of the nicest guitars I have ever owned and I have had
many strats including a Clapton "Blackie" and a Custom Shop '63.

It is my understanding that this is one of a special run of guitars made of USA parts assembled in Mexico in '98 and '99. I have owned several strats in the last 20 years and worked in a guitar shop too and in my opinion this one fits right between an American Deluxe and a Closet Classic in build quality and sound! The neck is straight, smooth and fast. The body is light but resonant and the pickups are hot and drivey on the bridge side and "Gilmore clean" on the neck selection. The bridge and tuners are the Fender aged vintage ones and the pick guard and plastics have a nice aged look. I have the tone knob but pulled it off when I got the guitar to not alter the "right tone" for me. It is included.
It sounds amazing and I have recorded two albums with only this strat and a few different amps for textures. It is a quality instrument at a great value.
I am the second owner and paid $870 for it in 2003 from a friend in Austin.
Times are tough in 2011 and I am willing to sell it for $700 shipped in the USA.
