Rare 1983 ovation collectors series acoustic electric

Sign in to disble this ad
This is one of the more rare collectors series ovations

1983 Ovation Collectors Series number 764/3000

This particular guitar has had one owner and is in fantastic condition. It plays like a dream, super low action, virtually no fretwear (probably 10 hours total on this guitar in its entire life).

Most importantly this guitar comes with its hand written number, and certificate of authenticity signed by its maker, the original tags (including sales tag), original reciept from 1983. You will never find an old ovation in this great of condition.

The Specs:
  • Beautiful abalone inlayed and ivaroid bound ebony fretboard
  • Schaller Tuning machines (5 original, one schaller m6 replacement, includes the original perloid button but it is cracked)
  • Gray burst paint job on top and back- original and virtually flawless (only two small finish cracks and a small check on neck, but these checks and scratches do not go through the finish and are hardly noticable!)
  • perfectly straight neck
  • virtually no fretware
  • beautifully bound and inlayed rosette
  • ovation acoustic electric system- sounds incredible however, missing the top of the dual knob (volume and tone in same pot, still works just lacking the top plastic cover)
  • original ovation hardshell case
  • made in the USA in 1983

cool fact: this guitar was actually endorsed and advertised by Nancy Wilson of Heart in the early advertisements (search ebay for the ad, its sweet!)

I have been watching guitars like this latley and it looks like fair market value for this particular model is anywhere from 1500-2600USD

I am open to any offers
