| I've had both, they are comparable in quality with different character. Ime the 32 is a bit wider sounding while the 27 is a little sweeter on the top. At closer proximity the 27 seems to be a bit tighter in the bottom. I prefer the 27's, i also have the original ksm27 and it is the same mic with different paint.
In the studio I use these frequently through an amek/ neve 9098
pre as overheads and it is outrageous for air and clarity.
These also are the best tom mics i've used (if you trust the drummer enough to get them that close). |
