We have here a Shure SM57 Mic that I have hardly used.
I received it on a trade here on Talkbass along with another microphone. Turns out...that I don't need two microphones so this one is up for sale!

Hmm.. I've not seen that and I believe that the XLR assembly should be flush with the bottom of the mic. If that's loose try gently pushing it back in while watching for the small screw on the XLR assembly to line up with the threaded hole in the mic body (assuming the screw has not been lost). Then turn that screw (i believe) counter clockwise until the XLR snugs up against the mic body. Problem solved.
