Hey all. I have a couple Kentucky A-styles up for sale. Recent KM-150 - $140 shipped CONUS. The first is a recently made KM-150. These are all solid, nitrocellulose finish, adjustable-truss rod mandolins with a $206 street price on Musician's Friend. This one was sold to me straight from Saga as a factory second--they had to reglue the fretboard and, while not pretty, it is an excellent playing (and not bad looking) starter mandolin. It hasn't really been broken in yet. Pics to follow soon. 1990's KM-250S - $200 shipped CONUS.
The second is a late 90's KM-250S A-style(older Kentucky's have an S to distinguish all solid woods). This one has great sound, low action with a lot of room to come up, and a beautiful olive finish all around. The back is really attractive two-piece flame maple. This looks and feels like a high-quality A style. It is however, used, and there are a few problems The neck is not totally straight, and while the action is good now, the 12th fret of the E strings does not fret super well. There are a few scratches all around...it doesn't look new, but it looks pretty. Seasoned, if you will.
Again, pics to follow.
Both of these include mandolin gig bags and a new set of Martin mandolin strings. I can include a black leather Mandolin strap for $10 extra or separately for $15 shipped CONUS. Martin Mandolin Light Gauge Strings - $4 shipped/set or $35 shipped for 10 sets |
