I've got this old electric guitar that was given to me by a friend. It's possibly made by Global in the 1960s, but I really can't say for sure. I do know that it plays very well. It was finished in sunburst, but the body and finish were badly dinged and scratched so I stripped it and refinished it with a dark mahogany stain and polyurethane, which still needs work, shooting for that vintage Gibson red look. The DeArmond-style single coil pickup sounds very clean and jazzy with a set of flatwounds. It has a very lightweight mahogany body and maple neck with no issues (warp, twist, etc). Bound rosewood fingerboard. Steel reinforced, but no truss rod. Everything is original except for the tuning keys and knobs. Wiring has been cleaned up. An old chipboard case came with it, but it doesn't fit the guitar at all -- way too big. If you want it, it's yours, though, but shipping will be higher. Oh, and I'll separate the neck and body to cut down on shipping, and to protect the instrument. The wiring and pots, as well as the tuners, have been replaced, and threaded inserts have been installed to make removing the bridge and control cover easier.
Here's an older photo, before the refinish.
Since I don't really know how much it's worth, and I'm just trying to get it out of my bedroom to make space, how does $50 shipped sound?
