Okay guys, here's the thing... the specs for this guy aren't too far off the last model that Apple put out. Up until a few days ago, Apple was selling the 2.0GHz White Macbook for $999 with 2 GB of RAM. The only difference? Mine's got a smaller hard drive and no SuperDrive.
My MacBook has the following specs:
* 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
* 2GB DDR2 RAM
* 80GB Hard Drive
* CD-RW/DVD-ROM Drive
As I've just gotten my MacBook Pro, I no longer need the Plastic Fantastic around, which has served me well. I've just reinstalled OS 10.4 (Tiger) with the System Restore discs, and will include the upgrade to Leopard (OS 10.5) and upgrade to iLife '09. I will also include Microsoft Office 2004 (all the software is 100% legal)
The only con... the battery has 530 cycles. HOWEVER, I still manage to average about 3.5 hours on the battery doing regular tasks.
The specs aren't too far off the current $999 model... and used MacBooks with similar specs have sold between $700-800 on eBay, without the additional software. For Talkbassers, I'll let this guy go for $625 shipped OBO. The last MacBook to sell on Talkbass went for $735 IIRC, and this has all the software, backup discs, only no SuperDrive. And I'll even toss in a MiniDV to VGA adapter. Comes with power 65W MagSafe Power Adapter.
For another $50, I'll toss in a LaCie external Lightscribe DVD-RW drive with Roxio Toast 8.
Photos will be up first thing after work tomorrow.
