A great, older digital board. One of the first large diffusion digital mixing desks, not yet obsolete. The good points are, of course, the recall and the automation, but also a large panel of functions : 3-band parametric equalisers, 3 compressors, 2 internal effect buses, and 2 external buses.
Other features include, S/PDIF digital output for direct mixdown to DAT and other digital recorders, large backlit graphic LCD provides clear indication of mix settings and graphic display of EQ curves, a library of unique EQ presets designed for specific applications and instruments are provided. (You can also save your own presets.), motorized faders are featured on all channels, and four fader groups are provided for multichannel control.
It also features 20-bit AD/DA converters with 64-times A/D oversampling and 8-times D/A oversampling. Internal signal processing is 24-bit, 36-bit for EQ. Dynamic range is in excess of 100dB.
It's currently housed in a flight case that I will include as well as a rackmount surge protector. Currently has "RL7 FOH" stenciled on the top but is easily covered or removed.
This mixer works great in a studio environment or rehersal room, but lacks a bit as a larger FOH console with only 8 XLR inputs. It can however, be used in a smaller venue or for a smaller band with limited inputs.
