Your French horn for $$ or a bass from me?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm looking for a double French horn, in particular a Holton H179 or a Conn 8D (if I can find either one at a price I can handle). If anyone has one for sale or for trade, please PM me.

I have this old Selmer horn in the closet but I dont think it's a French horn. I know very little about brass, it's all there but ruff condition.

Did some research and I think this is a vintage Selmer Mellophone. If it's something you can use let me know.

wow, piston valves. I've never played one of those - would be fun. But I'm holding out for a double French horn.

thanks for the H179 bump. Yep, that's the one I had way back when I was in high school, and "serious" about playing French horn (taking lessons from univ prof, making all-state, etc.). Then came college and a decision (misguided in retrospect) that I should focus strictly on academics and bass.

Too bad I sold that thing. Another musical instrument regret.
