Some nice stuff there Todd. On several of the tunes, the walking bass appears to be looped. If so, what looper are you using? The small box on the floor looks about the size of the RC-20.

Hi Todd,

I liked your duet with Dewey Erney. I'm interested in the way you played a walking bass line and chord tones simultaneously. Is this technique covered in any of your videos? I play with small dance/jazz combos as well as an 18 piece big band and I thought doing a duet with one of our singers like you did with Dewey would be great.

I'm also interested in getting a Jamman looper. How is it working out for you and how did the October 22nd gig go using it?

Hi Brian,

Sorry, the walking bass and chords thing isn't covered in any of my videos.......YET!!! At some point I'll get to that........

The JamMan looper is ideal for my needs.......

October 22 went great.....well enough that I'm back November 26th and Dec. 17th.... Cool.... Thanks for asking!!

Todd,

How are you liking the JamMan so far? How is it live? Is it better than the RC-20? Have you tried any other loopers (thoughts on them)?

Hi Fred,

IMHO, the JamMan is excellent......It's essentially the RC-20 with the capacity to store up to 99 loops or songs.......The memory it has depends on the size of card you buy. I have 1 gig card and it supposedly has about 3 hours of looping time.... plus you can save your loops on the computer.

I've used it quite a bit at home AND on the gig. So far....So good!!

Those are the main 2 loopers I've used. That's all I need for what I do.....

For in depth looping advice, you should DEFINITELY ask Steve Lawson.....He's the KING of that stuff....He's BRILLIANT IMHO.

I hope this helps.

Thanks Todd,

My wife just gave me the task of getting my own Christmas present (we're both so busy and it's really for the kids anyway) so I thought and thought and decided to get a looper. I just went over to GC to get one and they had a used Boomerang for the same price as the JamMan, I thought about getting it but they couldn't find the power supply so I got the JamMan. Man, I'm gonna be so surprised on Christmas day!

I've just read a few problems with the JamMan and using it live that I was a little apprehensive but I really like the idea of being able to save loops to the computer.

I'm a totally beginner at this looping stuff but I think it'll be fun.

Thanks,

Fred

Congrats on your JamMan......

I haven't had any problems using it live so far.....

It's WAY better than the Boomerang IMHO...... it may just be personal preference....

Have fun......

Play slow!.....

Merry Christmas!!!

Thanks for posting the videos. I especially like the one of "Sunshine & Slim". That is my favorite song from the record you made with Kendall and Kristin.
