1844 Tewksbury for Sale

Prescott model, flat backed gamba shaped with hump , joined f-holes, big scroll. Just restored, label, original finish, just added Rob Anzelotti B-extension.
Huge sound, plays like butter. FAntastic orchestra bass or jazz bass for a bigger person. I have played it for about 6 months since resto - I love it, but it's just too big for me.

UB 22, LB 28, Body 50, overall(including Extension)77.
string length just over 42 1/2, e-flat neck.
Appraised at $45K, asking $40K.

Many pictures available. some at [url]http://www.flickr.com/photos/41253800@N04/sets/72157632973029075/

Looks stellar. A little too big for my tastes, and about $20k out of my price range, but I hope you find a good home for her!

I have been- I wish I could afford a Hachez. I've heard it's somewhere in the high 40s lower 50s.

Yeah, I guess winning all of those gold medals pushed the price up, haha! A friend of mine at school had an Arvi- it was a little odd for my tastes. Kind of felt really heavy, a little unwieldy, but it could have just been that one. I've looked into a couple... But I'm hedging most of my bets on finding something at ISB.

I'm happy to see this. It reaffirms the identity of the Tewksbury I owned. The outline, the arching, the ff's. They're all exactly like mine. I'm curious about the purfling. Would you happen to have a very clear photo of the purfling on the top? I loved my Tewks, an awesome bass.
