1939 and 1937 American Standard

I have two pre-war American Standards for sale.

The '39 has more wear on it, and is set up and ready to play. It has had some damage where the sound post meets the top, but has been professionally repaired, and is ready to play.

The '37 is a great bass, and is ready to play also.

I play both basses regularly, and both sound awesome with great tone, volume, and low end.

'39 - $2000.00 obo
'37 - $2800.00 obo

If interested, call Russell at 256-531-5339, or email at rrollo.rr@gmail.com, and I can send pics.

Hey Ike. In case Russell doesn't see this for a bit, I spoke with him on Friday regarding his basses. Nice guy. In the pic, the '37 is on the left.

The dark bass is a 3 digit serial number but is not a1937,,this bass is a unmarked Standard which is from a series of basses which were made with out the outer rib trim and only a serial number on a cut tag, no trademark "burn",I have owned several of these and they are really no different than marked mdls I have #467 which is a unmarked but also includes a tag from a college ,it reads purchased "New" Sept 41,,so these basses date from about 1940-41, Roy Huskey's Standard was also one of these unmarked basses.I hope to find out the whole story on these one day,,you can check out my American Standard/King web site here--http://www.amstandard-kingbass.com/American_Standard_Basses/Welcome.html

I just went by the serial number page off of the American Standard website. But, if Kent thinks it a 40 or 41, then it probably is. He is the man when it comes to American Standards. Either way, it's still an old and awesome sounding bass.
