For sale is a 1950's German Brazilwood Bow - $350
$450
This bow has been through the rounds - Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Saint Saens, Brahms, Chopin, etc,. It's a fast bow (weighs around 135 grams), with a fat, thick tone. I have won several auditions with this, and it's been my bow for almost four years. It is brazilwood, but it's been an amazing bow, and was verbally appraised by Montreal archetier Serge Sioufi for $600-800. This bow isn't tip heavy, as most of the weight is in the frog.
All recent work to it has been done by Serge Sioufi. This included regluing the button and screw, redrilling the hole for the screw, leveling the top of the frog, and some fixes to the tip. It doesn't affect the playability at all, and everything is still going strong about the bow. It was recently rehaired by Serge with white hair.
Bow is located in Quebec (Lennoxville), and is available for trial.
