Good afternoon TBers!
I am looking to sell my 1953 Benedikt Lang five-string.
It is an incredible 5/8 bass with a lot of tone and volume for its size. It had a Gotz endpin installed. It is currently set up with a low B.
Here are the measurements:
Scale length - 40"
Upper bout (widest) - 19 1/4"
Waist (narrowest) - 14 1/2"
Lower bout (widest) - 26"
Body length (not including heel or endpin)- 41"
Bass height (not including endpin) - 79"
Rib Depth - 8 5/8"
It will come equipped with a Realist and a standard Mooradian case. It will not come with the bow quiver. You can have one of the damp-its.
I purchased it from David Gage in 2003 for $13,000 for just the bass, before tax. It was appraised at the time for $16,000 and was informally valued more recently (at David Gage) for $18,000.
You can come play the bass in the beautiful Cedar Park neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA.
Feel free to contact with questions and offers. I am open to considering partial trades for high end studio microphones or new single cone National guitars.
