| | | Modeled, as are all Arviis, on mid 19th century Italian Rocca, long in Boston Symphony. Large 3/4-small to 7/8 size-- smaller upper bout, large lower. 42" string length. Round back, violin corners. #17, made in 1985. Played daily since then. David Gage installed C-extension, modified recently with Rob Anzelloti capos. Recently set up with bridge and new ebony tail-piece by Dennis Roy. Original Flexocors, Mooradian cover.
A great, dark sounding, projecting example of Kai's work-- nicer wood and varnish than the earliest basses, and not as edgy sounding as most others.
Asking $17500.
e-mail me at eliot.porter@gmail.com to see. In New England. More pictures available.

In addition the market is really down right now. I had to let my bass go for significantly under what I felt it was worth compared to other instruments on the market.
It can be difficult to connect the right person with the right bass selling by yourself. Eventually the right person will come around. |
