Hello!
I'm selling my 2004 Don Gorman bass. It's a copy of Thomas Monohan's Montaynga. It was made for a player in Boston but came back because it was too big. I am the second owner.
This bass is pretty big, 9 inch rib depth but with a playable string length at 42 inches. I would say it's beyond a full size, about 9/8ths. It was a massive and very articulate sound, especially in the low register. It has a chromatic B extension(pictures included). The back and ribs are big leaf quilted maple. It's a fantastic bass and I am very lucky to have it but I'd much rather play electric bass for a living. Theo Chan won two major auditions (winnipeg and toronto) on the copy of this bass.
This bass acclimatizes very well. It's gone from a constant 50% + out east to a nearly 0% winter in Saskatchewan. Been here for nearly 3 years and no cracks or weather related damage has formed.
Asking for 21k for the bass. Comes with customized mooridian case (to fit the bass with the extension)
The bow is a 2005 Reid Hudson french bow. It balances extremely well and has a lot of bounce. It can pull a lot of volume out of the bass. Will send pictures if interested.
Asking 4k for the bow. Buy them together for 24k!
