I'm selling my 2004 Don Gorman bass. It's a copy of Thomas Monohan's Montaynga. It was made for a player in Boston but came back because it was too big. I am the second owner.
This bass is pretty big, 9 inch rib depth but with a playable string length at 42 inches. I would say it's beyond a full size, about 9/8ths. It was a massive and very articulate sound, especially in the low register. It has a chromatic B extension(pictures included). The back and ribs are big leaf quilted maple. It's a fantastic bass and I am very lucky to have it but I'd much rather play electric bass for a living.
This bass acclimatizes very well. It's gone from a constant 50% + out east to a nearly 0% winter in Saskatchewan. Been here for nearly 3 years and no cracks or weather related damage has formed, nor have any seams opened.
Asking for 20,000 for the bass. Comes with customized mooridian case (to fit the bass with the extension) http://s92.photobucket.com/user/Dansjones/slideshow/
