| 2006 KC Strings 7/8 Hybrid Bass
Reluctantly selling my awesome hybrid bass from KC Strings. Just not enough room...
42 inch scale. Very playable for such a large instrument.
This is from KC Strings in Kansas City from 2006. It is a large 7/8 bass with a booming low sound. Great volume and tone. Refined enough for classical music, but absolutely fantastic for bluegrass and country. Lots of low frequency response. The finish is a dark chocolate color. I've been playing this bass professionally (mostly jazz and country) for a few years and have always gotten compliments on it.
It's had some dings and some major repairs, too. Nothing wrong structurally, just the usual gigging bass stuff. The bass was professionally set up and plays excellently. It currently has obligato Strings on it, but I've been considering switching to something brighter to bring out the high end. Comes with soft case.
Asking 2,600. Or best offer, of course. The bass is in Brooklyn--local pickup only.
