Brand new Ken Smith Black Tiger for Carved Upright

I'd like to trade a brand new 5 string black tiger (5tn) ken smith for a nice carved upright. How new is this ken smith? So new I haven't even received it yet! That's also why I don't have pics. The bass is scheduled to be completed in the next couple of weeks. I'd like to trade for a nice carved 3/4 7/8 or 4/4 upright but nothing in need of any kind of repair or any other issues. If I can do an even swap price wise that would be ideal, but if the bass is worth less on my end or your & its the right deal we can work it out. the black tiger cost about 5k. Let me know what you have!

So, you want to trade a bass guitar you don't have for a bass you've never seen? What are you smoking?

Joshua is a cool guy, cut him some slack.

I know it sounds strange, but wouldn't YOU rather have a nice carved upright than a slab?

I know it sounds strange, but some times it can take a while to have a bass made (or delivered). I had my Pedulla Pentabuzz made for me back in the 80's and it was three or four months late on the promised delivery date. I never doubted my decision for that bass (still have it!!!), but I can see how someone might get antsy...

Besides, wouldn't YOU rather have a nice carved upright than a slab?

Joe
Yes, Joshua is a cool guy and no disrespect intended. Just had to laugh at Arnold's comment.

One thing is certain, the Smith bass he'll be trading away will be a prize for anyone.

And as for me, hell no, I'll take the Smith "slab" ANY day!

That's actually not an unusual trade on the slab side of the forum. I know at least two guys (not naming names) who traded away equipment they hadn't taken delivery of yet.

He should talk to Ken. No? Maybe he could just put the $ toward an equal valued upright, and Ken can sell the electric to another buyer.

Full disclosure, I had a good laugh too!

And yes, I know that bass is far from being a run of the mill "slab"- no disrespect intended their either!

Also, Ken may be able to help him with a DB. He is very knowledgable on the DB topic.

Not a bad idea. The Wultur Carcassi he has is probably in the $5k range and, if it's anything like the Wultur flatback I played last fall, is probably pretty nice.
