| Feeler: BSX Allegro Acoustic with Gig Bag
I am considering selling my BSX Allegro Acoustic EUB and am curious to see if there would be any interest in it. I ordered the bass in late February and received in April. It has a tobacco sunburst finish and it includes the gig bag. Then in June an unfortunate accident happened. I didn't properly secure the bass and it fell on the floor leaving a crack on the top and neck joint. So I took the bass to World of Strings in Long Beach thinking the bass was totaled. Lo and behold the repair cost less than $100 and the bass is like new. They did an awesome job on it and assured me the bass is fine.
Which brings us to today. I am finding myself playing more latin music than jazz and am looking at getting the latin bass thump. I've tried using foam between the strings and have considered building a mute similar to the Azola mambo mute. In the end I figured it would be best to just get a bass with a diaphragm pickup instead of altering this bass.
So here I am considering selling my bass to fund a purchase of another. When GAS attacks...!!! I'm thinking of asking for $1600 for the bass plus $50 shipping. Would like to know if there would be interest in this bass for this price. I am currently at work and will post pics when I get home.
**Finally got around to uploading some pics. As you can see there was a crack on the neck joint and a hairline crack on the top. All cracks have been professionally fixed. Also forgot to mention the bass is currently strung up with Velvet Blues.
