FS - 1936 American Standard

Hi, I have for sale a 1936 American Standard Upright Bass. It is 1st yr production of these basses. Serial #103. The bass is in good condition for its age. Original finish. The neck hasnt been broken. The original scrolls are still intack. It has a nice smooth dark rosewood fingerboard, adjustable bridge, new steel strings, new adjustable endpin, and is setup very nice. It has fairly low action but wont buzz when you "dig in." It is very loud and has a very punchy soft tone. Original tuners work great.
You dont see these basses like this everyday, especially in good shape. It is one of the top 10 oldest known American Standards out there today. Im asking $3800 obo. Im located in Somerset, KY. If interested, please call 606-875-4550 or email me at basscat85@ymail.com I play for JD Crowe & The New South.

This bass is still for sale. Here is a preview of how it sounds. It was recorded Jul 3 at Morganton, NC Festival. If you have surround sound or some real good speakers, it sounds awesome!

Youtube - search for user "TheJeteyeoo7"

Folks,

I played Kyle's bass backstage, just before they went on. With a band onstage, I could tell that this was a hosscat of a bass. I can't remember what strings Kyle had it strung with, but it felt really good to me. If there weren't 2 American Standards here at the house, I'd be considering buying this one.
