I'm posting this one for an older friend who is not very 'net savy.
Blonde January 1939 Kay Orchestra model with excellent setup and tone. New adjustable Despiau bridge, recent fingerboard dress ( Brazilian rosewood), recent neck reset to clean up and tidy everything, all seams tight. Average cosmetic condition- not too pretty and not to worn- just the right amount of vintage mojo. No breaks at the heel, scroll missing passenger side curly -q. A great example of the most desireable pre war Kays made, with a new set of Eudoxas ($600 retail!!! only two shown in the photos, but the rest are on now)- silver wound gut for that oh so smooth tone and happy fingers. If you're not getting what you want out of this one, it is not the bass!!!!
Fair priced for a fast sale at $2500, trades and offers always condsiered, but they should be more in the line of an old D18 / 28 or an old Gibson snakehead mandolin, or possibly another older bass in need of repair that the owner will trade back to me, rather than a Fender P and a Marshall half stack -and nothing made in China!
