This bow was purchased from a local music shop in Grand Rapids, MI about 25 years ago. At the time, I was told that it previously belonged to the 2nd chair bassist in the Grand Rapids Symphony. This recently has had the hair replaced with natural horse hair since the original was finally becoming too thin to work properly. I've had this assessed by a prominent string shop (Guarneri House
Guarneri House) and they believe it to be an older German made bow. I am not an expert, but based on the information I obtained from Guarneri House, I'm listing this for sale at $350. (I'll toss in a couple slightly used cakes of Pops bass rosin - has a real nice grip to it.)
You really can't see it in the pictures, but there is a mother of pearl inlay on the frog.
This bow can be seen in person or picked up at:
1747 Timberlane Lane NE
Grand Rapids, MI 49505
I'd also be happy to ship this in any method you'd like to cover the cost of.
