I took this bass in as part of a trade deal, and although it is super fun to play and pleases everyone who hears it, I don't need to own it.
It's a 1998 Panormo model by Rumano Solano: spruce top, maple back, sides, neck and scroll. Sloane brass tuning gears and a chromatic C-extension from the David Gage shop. Two top luthiers have expressed that this bass is an example of Mr. Solano's best work. Current appraisal value is $19,500, I'm asking
, including a Mooradian deluxe cover.
String Length: 41 1/2 inches
Body Length (from top of the button): 45 1/2 inches
Width at Upper Bout: 21 inches
at C Bout: 14 1/2 inches
at Lower Bout: 27 inches
Rib Depth at Upper Block: 6 3/4 inches
at Lower Bout: 8 1/2 inches
This bass was posted for sale here by the previous owner before I took it in trade; after I received it, I had a new sound post made and fitted (the one in it essentially did not fit at all) and it has proven to be a remarkable, deep, clear, easy to play bass. Everyone who hears it, including my fellow faculty members at IU, remark on how well it sounds. Currently strung with Bel Cantos and a long Spirocore C string.
If you have something sell-able to trade (plus cash, hopefully) run it by me.
