Labeled: New Standard Instrument Co. N.Y. 2006, #214
From the workshop of Arnold Schnitzer and Will de Sola
A large 3/4 -- small 7/8 sized bass with a strong, even sound and excellent playability.
Modeled after the highly sought-after American-made bass (the American Standard). Truly a professional bass, it responds equally well both pizzicato and arco. The string length is reasonable (42"), the construction is strong, and the body design produces a punchy, deep tone. Compared to the original, the neck joint has been standardized and strengthened, the string length made more manageable, and the neck has been mounted to allow better access to the upper register. Round back and gamba corners. Two Piece spruce top. The back, neck, and ribs are maple.
A huge hit with jazz, slap and Broadway theater bassists, it has a deep, punchy tone with a lot of "puff" in the low end. I purchased this bass as a special order, requesting a fully carved model since I use this bass as a classical instrument as well as a jazz bass. I have only seen two other fully carved Cleveland's from Arnold, and I think the sound upgrade is extremely noticeable compared to the plywood and hybrid models. Best of all, I have played this bass extensively, finishing a B.M, M.M, and Professional Diploma with it. It has upgraded beautiful ebony tuning machines, brown varnish, a Fishman Full Circle pickup, and side bumpers.
This bass is in excellent condition. I have all original papers including invoices, sales receipts, and appraisals, the most recent being from 2011 for insurance purposes by Michael Shank of Shank's Strings.
The bass is currently located in central Connecticut, but I make frequent trips to Boston, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
$10,000 w/ case. I also have more detailed pictures available.

Good luck with the sale, Dan. |

We would all love to hear the bass playing walking bass lines and solos. This could give an overall sonic picture of the bass ,...Happy New Year to you.... |
